Digital isolators are electronic components used to isolate digital signals between two systems or components. They use capacitive isolation and transmit signals by converting them into digital form. Optocouplers are slower than digital isolators, making them suitable for low-speed communication applications. They can only support data rates of up to 10 Mbps, while digital isolators can support data rates of up to 10 Gbps. Optocouplers are also larger and consume more power than digital isolators.
